Start with the first quest

Follow the Alchemist's “Explore The Hollow Halls” quest for the Springlands dungeon and the Collector rescue. The named quest is a better first destination than an old guide's count of all dungeons across different updates.

The current quest listing identifies the Springlands entrance and the eventual rescue of Alden Crowley, the Collector. Use its quest map and your Journal to choose the intended entrance before planning a descent.

Prepare for a longer expedition

  • Repair the weapons you actually use and take enough supplies for repeated encounters.
  • Bring food, healing and the ammunition or spell charges your loadout consumes.
  • Leave inventory room for resources and quest rewards.
  • Set aside enough time to explore carefully. A long dungeon is not the same trip as a quick surface mining stop.
  • In co-op, agree on when to advance and who will carry shared supplies.

The quest data recommends preparation and a team where practical. A recommended level is not proof that every character at that level has sufficient equipment or healing. Use the build overview if your damage and survival setup still feel inconsistent.

Inside the Halls

  1. Check the objective and nearby exits when entering a new section.
  2. Deal with enemy spawners when you can reach them safely rather than fighting endless replacements in place.
  3. If a barrier remains, inspect the current room and its required objectives before assuming the run is broken.
  4. Gather useful drops while keeping enough room for later sections.
  5. Reassess supplies before committing farther into the dungeon.

The spawner priority is a tactical recommendation from the collected walkthrough material. It is not a promise that every room, barrier or boss follows an identical layout.

Keep Ectoplasm for its uses

The quest reference specifically calls out Ectoplasm for some chests and Bone Keys. Do not spend every piece immediately simply because you found a chest that accepts it; keep the next crafting objective in view.

Use the item name and crafting recipe in your own game. Avoid assuming that every Hollow drop serves the same purpose or that an older route has the same chest costs after updates.

Complete the rescue loop

After discovering the new survivor, the quest asks you to place Alden Crowley in your base using the Summoning Staff. Returning home and placing the survivor is part of the progression, not merely reaching the final room.

Check the resulting Journal objectives and available crafting. This is different from requiring a particular boss-cheese technique, a fixed number of total dungeons or one universal route through every regional Hollow Hall.

Success check: the intended quest advances and the rescued survivor can be placed at home. If it does not, compare the current Journal step with the room or interaction you completed before repeating the entire dungeon.
