What 1.0 means
Enshrouded's 1.0 release arrived on PC and PlayStation 5 on October 15, 2026. It is the full-release milestone after Early Access. This overview helps new and returning players choose what to check first rather than treating every older guide as current.
The launch material describes an expanded Embervale, Cinder's Cradle, additional places to explore and a conclusion to the current storyline. For the structure of the world, start with the region guide.
The useful changes to know
| Area | What to look at | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| Exploration | New and revised areas, including Cinder's Cradle | World map and region order |
| Building | Sparkworks logic and interactive creations | Base-building checklist |
| Combat | Revisit skills, equipment and spell choices | Build overview |
| Platform | PC and PlayStation release information | PS5 guide |
Sparkworks connects inputs such as levers and pressure plates to outputs such as doors or traps. It is an optional creative layer: you can build a useful first home without designing a puzzle dungeon.
Returning from Early Access
Keen's launch FAQ says existing PC Early Access owners do not need to buy the PC game again for 1.0. It also says Early Access saves can be used and are converted to an updated format.
Before opening an important old world, keep a separate backup. Recheck your active character, equipment and objectives after loading. Starting a new world can be useful for seeing revised opening content, but that is different from saying every player must abandon an existing save.
A PC purchase is not a promise of ownership on another platform. Check the relevant store before buying a console copy.
Multiplayer and old guides
The official launch FAQ says cross-platform play was not available at launch. Do not purchase a second platform solely on the assumption that it can join your existing group's world. Check the newest official announcement when arranging a mixed-platform group.
Older advice can also refer to different skill ranks, world layouts or water behaviour. If a tutorial and your game disagree, compare its date and version before changing your setup. Our water guide and skill-tree guide separate the main decisions from exact old build values.
Your next step
- New player: follow the first-steps guide.
- Returning caster: compare mage, necromancer and summoner priorities.
- Builder: make a small reliable base before experimenting with logic or water.
- Host: check the dedicated-server setup before moving a shared world.
